EDUCATION 

• Graduatied from NTU School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in July 2009.
• Final CGPA of 4.33. Obtained A- for Final Year Project under A/P Wong Yew Wah.
• Graduated from Nanyang Junior College in 2002 with Distinctions in Mathematics (9233), Mathematics S paper, Further Mathematics (9234) and Physics (9248).
• Graduated from Saint Andrew's Secondary School in 2000 with an aggregate of 12 and Distinctions in Additional Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Physics, Geography & Chinese Language.

PAST TUTORING EXPERIENCE

• Tutored Mathematics since 2004, first assignment was a Secondary 4 Additional Mathematics student. Tutored him until his A levels in 2006.
• Two A level boys (Mathematics 9233) graduated in 2006 from VJC and SRJC.
• One H2 girl in 2007 from PJC.
• Five students in 2008, two H1 Mathematics girls from ACJC and YJC, and three H2 Mathematics students from NJC, SAJC and YJC (two boys and one girl).
• Five Additional Mathematics students including one IP student from VJC between 2004 and 2008.
• Two male Polytechnic students from Temasek Polytechnic (Year One - Mathematics & Statistics AMA1003) and Nanyang Polytechnic (Year Two - Engineering Mathematics 2B) in 2009 (Ended Feb & Aug).
• Four H2 girls from PJC, TJC, SRJC and NYJC in 2009.

I was introduced to private tuition in 2004 by my eldest brother. My first assignment was a Secondary 4 student, whom I taught Additional Mathematics and subsequently Mathematics 9233 while he was in junior college. Several tuition offers came and since 2005, I was handling at least 5 students every year.

As a tutor, I have travelled all over Singapore. Fortunately, I was eligible for Tertiary Concession which greatly reduced my travelling expenses! The places I visited included Serangoon, Dairy Farm, Upp Bukit Timah, Tanah Merah, Bedok, Sengkang, Sembawang etc. Travelling is tiring and time consuming, but this is just part of a tutor's life...

Having graduated in July 2009 and holding a full time job, I feel that it will be a big pity to end my tutoring stint. With 4 years of experience, I am confident that I am well versed with the syllabus of H1 and H2 Mathematics, hence this website was created not only to continue my passion in tutoring mathematics but also to provide students an avenue to source for useful information on JC mathematics.

With less time available due to work commitments, I would be offering more of a consultation than a tutoring service:

Consultation  implies - meet as and when required (subject to my availability), no weekly 2 hour lessons i.e. more flexibility. Ideal for periods before major exams. Either Individual or Group consultation. Find out more here!

Between 2005 and 2006, I have an ex- JC student whom I see only a few sessions in a year. He was good at his Mathematics (Scored an A in his 9233 Mathematics) and needed only a few sessions before his major examinations to brush up some weaknesses and consult me on some questions.

I believe there are several students out there with similar situation, preferring consultation at the comfort of their homes instead of going back to school to look for teachers. Thus, I would gladly offer my services to these students as well.

Tutoring  implies - meet every week for 1.5 ~ 2 hours at student's residence.

I am currently available for weekly tuition on a first come first serve basis, preference is weekends. More information on the rates is available here.

This website was created in December 2008 for a couple of reasons. The primary reason is to share my knowledge on Junior College Mathematics. The secondary reason is to promote my services to students in need of extra assistance in Mathematics.

This website will be updated progressively. My intention is to continue providing tutoring services beyond 2010 depending on the students' response.
